Participation in the curricular unit “Urban Catalysts” at FAULisboa

Intermittent City: working in Public Space with the undefined, the uncertain and the unpredictable (Lisbon, Portugal)

On the 15th of October of 2024, Alessia Allegri and Rita Ochoa presented the project and concept of Intermittent City to the students of the curricular unit “Urban Catalysts”, at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon. This master’s subject addresses issues such as the transformation of buildings, adaptive reuse, and the reactivation of urban spaces. In this framework, Alessia and Rita also debated the notions of “undefined”, “uncertain” or “unpredictable” as tools to understand and design public spaces that can embrace the intermittent uses and sharing practices of the city.
