Impacts on Public Space
Participation in the International Conference on Changing Cities VI (Rhodes, Greece)
In the last June 2024, Rita Ochoa attended the “International Conference on Changing Cities VI. Spatial, Design, Landscape, Heritage & Socio-economic Dimensions”, promoted by the Department of Mediterranean Studies of Aegean University, Rhodes (Greece), to present the article “Challenging Intermittent Approaches in Cities. Impacts on Public Space”, in co-authorship with Alessia Allegri. The presentation focused on the impacts of Intermittent Practices in urban public spaces. By conducting focus groups with some of the key stakeholders involved, a set of dynamics and initiatives in the last decade in Lisbon were analysed. The cases explored demonstrated the ability to promote changes in the places where they occur and to multiply by other contexts, in a domino effect.
