Temporary use for vertical spaces

In October 2023, the student André Saraiva Geraldes (Master in Architecture, Universidade da Beira Interior), presented the final dissertation entitled “Torre de Santo António, Covilhã. Usos temporários para (re)pensar o espaço vertical”.
Under the co-guidance of Rita Ochoa and Alessia Allegri (Intermittent City’s project coordinator), André developed an investigation about the re-imagination of the use of abandoned buildings in the city through temporary occupation, with a focus on vertical spaces represented by tower buildings.

This work has been selected as finalist for the Archiprix 2024.
